don't cast your pearls before swine

surely most of us have heard that phrase right? of course the majority have found a swine or two to cast our pearls before as well. right?
but, that's not really what i'm writin about. i'm writing more about the now well known "swine flu". WTH? it's damn near mass hysteria out here. they have closed entire school districts !!! and major public events... even cinco de Mayo ... there's gonna be some pissed off peeps.
soulkids school is closed , as of last night "for 7 to 10 days" . ooooh how fun. but better home than dead. she has already had a cold for well over a week so her immune system is weak -- which makes her susceptible already .

but there has been a couple deaths out here in dallas from this. it seems the ones who are getting sick /and or dying, are elementary school age kids. so far two, that i am aware of in this area.

how bout in your towns-- how are people acting-reacting?? any schools shuttin down? mass hysteria? events being cancelled?

this thing is seriously making me think of that movie "i am legend". kinda. just not so over the top.

on the news last night, they had people call in with short comments about the whole thing-- some guy said he thought it was a terrorist attack.. starting in mexico , and now spreading across the entire world. hmmmm. i just don't think so.

but i do hope something can be done about it-- very soon.

hmmmm... i had more to say--- not about this... just more to blab about-- but you know me---- i forgot.
maybe i'll come back later with it if i remember.

happy saturday peeps-

awww she knows Pearls Before Swine
atta girl!
Question is...
Does she know Get Fuzzy and Mutts?

as for the "flu" beh
more people die from good ol' flu
if kids would quit coughing all over each other and everyone wouldn't be so daggum filthy this thing wouldn't spread like it has.
comes back to responsibility.

Yep, I agree...some of these people out there act like they were born in a barn. They sneeze, cough and spit all over the place...its disgusting. If they were more careful then perhaps things wouldn't be spreading as fast. The first thing my boss did was to instruct the maintenance crew to wipe down everything with Clorox wipes...doorknobs and countertops especially. We've also been told to STAY home if we're sick or getting sick. Some residents are getting weird too. Threats were made against a farmer because he has a couple pigs. He was told the pigs would be GONE...one way or another. Fear does strange things to people. We've had a couple districts a few counties over close schools and I personally think its a good idea....at least until things slow down a little...its spreading a bit too fast as far as I'm concerned. I do feel nervous about sending the little ones to school right now.

As far as I know nothing is happening around here. However, you do know that the kids had a honeymoon all planned for , you guessed it, Mexico. Any great honeymoon ideas? lol

Miss you too.

smocha-- you might know more-- if you ever watched the news :))

as for the kids? don't let em go to mexico! or on a cruise! i heard a horror story of a cruise last night. people paid for their cruise and once they were trapped on the ship-- they canceled ALL ports and left everyone trapped on the ship for the cruise with no refunds or nuthin. man i'd be pissed. and they were.

tell em to go to savannah georgia, or northern florida, maybe some ski resort that might still have snow-- germs usually die in cold temps. and they are skiers, snow boarder types.
i don't know. that's about all i can come up with on a whim.
that or just hold off till this crap blows over.

i don't know , but they sure don't wanna start a marriage with the swine flu.

luv me.

mornin j--
wasn't that wild? we used to live about a mile from there when we first moved out here years ago. but no, we live quite a ways from there now. that was in irving.
we had storms all night-- but thank God-- NO hail this time. and no real damage. no down fence-- no busted up cars, nuthin like that.
just scaredy cat eevee bein a big ole baby all night. ugh. i sure wonder what her old owners did to make her so weird. actually, sometimes, i don't wanna know. i already know it wasn't good.

so anyhow-- are you on here? how are you? really?

Swine Flu 'news' is bigger than the economy here. Schools that have confirmed Swine Flu are closed until 14 May. Others are back in session today after a 5 day closing. I hope the hype is overkill. Joe, my oldest son, planted another question in my mind yesterday. His question is: "If this is a mild flu and Government agencies are this hyped - what are they NOT telling us?" Good question, kid. Thanks for sharing with me.
