Obviously some folks who have posted comments have never cleaned a fish. There’s all sorts of “goop” down beyond where you can see looking down the throat of a fish that I doubt they would want to eat.

Just beyond that hollow throat is a lot of goop, for sure. I've never cleaned one but I've seen it done. Sure makes you want to skip the fish course and move on to the next.

c-- they're only empty half way down.. then like Don said-- they get pretty GOOPY --- i don't think you EVEN wanna know the crap i've pulled out of fish bellys --- do ya?? or their guts, for that matter? or how bout just their insides ?? they got all the stuff we have -- only worse.. and smaller.. and goopyer. isn't that a cool word ?? goop .. goopy.. is it goopyer -- goopier.. wth :))

they sort of have teeth.. but a lot like rough sandpaper -- nothin like walleye teeth .. they have enogh to leave what i call "bass burn" others call it "sore thumb" or other names.. but it can rub your skin off or sort of cut ya from "lippin" em while takin the hook out or holdin em for pix or whatever.
so there ya go-- ya learned somethin else.
that's a long day on the boat--did you roast -- or swim??

and have i mentioned they screwed up our tournament? i don't think i did.
they extended it to 1230 A.M. !! from 1030 pm. there's just no way. sometimes soulman has to work on saturday-- but even if he didn't -- that's just too late. we are bummed about it. so no more tourney nights here for me. :((
you haven't missed much by not cleanin fish--it's a nasty task-- and it really is enough to make ya not wanna eat it- but i do like fish. i'd sure have a freezer or two full if we kept all the fish we caught eh?? but nah. the pond would surely be empty by now if we did. then i would have nuthin to do.
and y'all would have nuthin to read here cept my whinin and cryin...

If I had a nickel for every fish I’ve cleaned I could buy Soul a new boat. Sometimes I just remove the scales and the “goop” and other times I just slice off nice filets from each side. One thing you find inside during spawning season are sacks of roe which cook up very nicely but you have to acquire a taste for them. They don’t taste like hen eggs, you know. :-)
I guess I have strange tastes because I think the best part of any fish is the edible crunchy portions of the fins after the fish has been fried.
I liked reading about the fishes and seeing the pictures of the fish. i often times forget to order my medications before i am out but tryimg to do better now.
Thanks for the look down the fishy's throat. I am happy to confess I was one of those strange people who wanted to see that.
That is a very pretty spot where you're standing in that last pic. My hubby would be sooo jealous if I showed him all the fish you catch.
So you think I need to find a new fishing fairy....hmmmm...let me see what I can do.
