peachy and dandy were sittin in a tree....

( good morning at my house)

hey girl, what's up? i need a towellllll"
mornin hunny, how ya doin? "oh, just peachy"
and you? just dandy"

(this is a 4.10 pound bass hubby caught yesterday while i was napping
it is also just about how i feel right now)

ahhhh....

today is the first day back to school... the music is blasting out of the childs room... it is freakin 618 in the morning. this is the way i will spend the next 9 months of my mornings. (and this was an easy one, since hubby woke her up, and not me!)

all summer long..and when i'm used to school hours / mornings... i have some time to myself to smoke and choke, most of the time in TOTAL silence, as she sleeps, and hubby either gets ready for work, or sleeps later than me. those days are gone.

now come the early morning arguments... the i can't find my... the i lost my homework, the i don't have clean pants..... i need a lunch check (all at the last minute) but the music....my gawd... the music.... i can't handle it.

well... i will get to my comment responses later on. and will try to cruise a bit before school time. but for now... i have to play mom... make sure the kid has lunch money...clothes, etc etc etc.
then i will need to ready myself for yet another trip to hell east... ummm.. dallas VA hospital. OMG.

what a monday.
hope y'all have some good ones.

i shall try to post a "first day of school photo" as most have done already. but of course that will depend on moods, time, and the fact that i can't remember , at this time, where i put my new camera batteries.

phase one, and two are finito!
hubby is at work.. the kid just got dropped off...a very nervous 8th grader...at school. and i am now finally sitting in a QUIET house,,,preparing to go to "the big debacle" ugh. how i do NOT look forward to that. any of it , as you well know.

as for you... kindergarten is not such a bad year. they are sooo happy to be big girls! and have friends, etc. but good luck to you anyhow. don't forget the famous first day photo.
i did forget to take one of my girl..i found the batteries, but was trying to calm her nerves, and mine...and forgot. maybe after school i will get a pic... if she isn't having an emotional breakdown... or if i'm not, from my trip to dallas.
but... if i do manage to take a pic.. i am gonna post her kindergarten 1st day next to todays.. 1st day of 8th grade. my my, how they change.
thanks for the prayers... but add my girl to your list? she is soooo nervous, she could barely breathe this morning. poor thing.
well... i'm off.
peace my gecko sistah!!

Good Morning Soul! Mothers everywhere can relate to the "fun" of first day of school morning. My heart goes out to you (and your poor ears with that stereo), and to your daughter - my son used to be liked that, pale as a ghost as he headed into school. Somehow it always was ok by the end of day. I hope it is for your daughter too. Is 9th grade still part of Jr. High there, or will she go into high school next year? Yikes!!

Praying for smooth sailing into Dallas and back - and no hassles at the VA hospital. What a way to start a Monday!

So this is all the stuff I'm looking forward too, eh?

i love the hearing blasting early rooster music for the next 9months..sorta like feeling the blast of heartburn for a 9month pregnancy..YUCK!
I hope things go well for her, and you today!! I think we'll have to have an S.C. tonight to help get you balanced!! :)
Good luck at the damn doc's..HATE THEM!!

I remember the first days of school very well, for myself and for my kids. Ugh...hard times, but I'll bet by tonight she will be all smiles...seems the hardest thing about a new school year is the going the first day. Once you are there, everything falls into place. I am keeping my fingers crossed for her, and for you, Soul. I hope your day went relatively smoothly, because we all know that a totally smooth day at the VA hosp is impossible. And I hope that they find something that will help you, not just more tests, more this, more that. Hang in---and let me know how things went for you and the kiddo tonight!

Oh SOul, I can so understand when school starts! I have 2 boys to deal with. Somedays, their buttons choose to fall off when we're heading for the door and poor mummy have to sew the damn button. At my age, trying to put the thread through the needle takes forever!

blur, i hear ya. i sew buttons, if you tolerate the music??? how's that sound?
