OMG Soul...it's GREAT GRANDDADDY BASS you're holdin there! I bet your hubby was beaming. Did you get a pic of him with it too? Happy Father's Day to him indeed! How much did that thing weigh??
we don't have scales...but this big boy just might be the motivation we need to invest in some. anyhow, i'll just email you the photo...of COURSE we got a pic of HIM with it. we thought it would be funny to put one of me with it on here.
simon... i love fresh fish too... but no, not bass. we throw them ALL back in. we've discussed the what if we got a eight or ten pound pound... would we actually just let it swim away? OR would we break down and have that suckah stuffed!? well...thing is, these days, you can take fishing line...wrap it around the belly and tie it off and cut it...then for the length do the same thing...just use fishing line for the length...so with the length and girth, and photos of course, you can have a model made, and mounted. so... being the "B- ass hats" that we are...we'd do that and send him home! we just love bass!!! it's amazing to me me how big some of these things get!
HUGE !! If you ever catch a fish you'd like mounted but know you're short on funds at that time, freeze him in water. Won't get freerer burned that way and could be mounted at a later date! Janice
janice.... i just said we would measure it and take pics to have a model made. we just couldn't bring ourselves to kill a big bass. just can't do it. besides...we'd have fish all over the house if we had every "good" one stuffed.
anon... you're tellin me... look at the size of his HEAD. lordy. we actually, just went to cabellas and bought scales !!! finally. next time will be able to report a weight on a big'n!
